Show Up and Tell The Truth

The truth, messy and eccentric as it is, is the greatest gift which we can give. To each other and to the world.

My artwork asks us to consider the ‘in-between’—the space in which things and people exist when they are neither this nor that—a melding of identities, a new assemblage of the human experience.

I work in a variety of scales and media, from small copper or sterling silver jewelry to large-scale mixed media sculpture incorporating materials such as canvas, wood, synthetic and human hair, paper, paint, and metal.

Using simplicity, juxtaposition, layering, repetition, and an awareness of the passage of time, I explore culture through the lens of an American biracial woman of Norwegian and African descent.
